Roentgen stereophotogrammetric analysis (RSA) is the gold standard to detect in vivo material wear of bearing couples hip arthroplasty. Some surgical planning tools offer opportunity by using a.p. radiographs (2Dwear), whilst RSA (3Dwear) needs a special radiological setup. The aims this study are prove interchangeable applicability 2Dwear approach next and assess influence different pelvic positions on measurement outcomes. An implant-bone model was used mimic three scenarios seven pelvic-femur alignment positions. reference follow-up (simulated wear) pose were acquired. Accuracy precision worse for (0.206 mm; 0.159 mm) comparison 3Dwear (0.043 0.017 mm). Changing position significantly influenced results (4 7, p < 0.05), showed almost no change. superior approach, as it less susceptible changes position.
